Black, and still sheer. The two do not usually go together.
Most black cloth reads as a solid block. Black Obsidian in matte organdy does not — the sleeve holds its full arched shape while the light passes straight through the width of it, so the silhouette is drawn in outline rather than filled in. Matte, so a formal room's lighting finds nothing to bounce off.
The center of the chest stays open. On the sleeve, one sampaguita is hand-beaded in freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals — set once, and on this ground it is the whole of the ornament.
